Typical Total Sleep Guidelines

  • 3 months – total: 15 hours
  • 4 months – total: 15 hours
  • 6 months – total: 14 hours
  • 8 months – total: 14 hours
  • 10 months – total: 14 hours
  • 12 months – total: 13-14 hours
  • 15 months – total: 13-14 hours
  • 18 months – total: 12-14 hours
  • 2 years – total: 12-14 hours
  • 2.5 years – total: 11-13 hours
  • 3 years – total: 11-13 hours

Typical Nap Guidelines

  • 6-12 months 3 naps (9:30am, 12pm, 4pm)
  • 9-20 months 2 naps (10am & 2pm)
  • 15-24 months 1 nap (12pm)

Typical Bedtime Guidelines

  • 3-4 months 6:30pm
  • 5-7 months 7:00pm
  • 7-12 months 7:30pm
  • 12-24 months 7:00-8:00 (depending on nap lengths/times)
  • 12-24 months 6:30-8:00pm (if doing no naps)

Typical Wake Time

  • 3 months – 1.5 hours
  • 4-6 months – 1.5 to 2.5 hours
  • 7-9 months – 2.5 to 3 hours
  • 9-14 months –  3 to 4 hours (if doing only 1 nap, up to 6hr)
  • 15 months-3 years – 5 to 6.5 hours (depending on naps)
